OUR VISION: A Christ Centered Community Growing in Faith.

OUR PURPOSE: The purpose of Faith Anglican Church is to proclaim the Good News, make disciples, and serve our neighbors.

 

 

The Youth Crew, the Faith Anglican youth group, meets every Sunday from 5-7 p.m., and every Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. for bible study. The youth also meet for a Sunday school class at 9:30 a.m. We are based on a play hard pray harder basis and we love newcomers. The Answer Is Jesus.

We equip lay people for ministry
We minister to people where they are
We provide biblically centered instruction

Music is an important part of the worship at Faith Anglican Church. In December, the worship choir and drama teams presented "The Gospel".

herb007The Rev. Herbert G. Hand – Pastor

Herb is the founding pastor of Faith Anglican Church.  He has a wide range of ministry experience, having served in South Carolina, Alabama, North Dakota, and Honduras.  He has served in Memphis since December of 1997.  Herb is passionate about disciple-making, missions, and proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Click here for full article>>

pipesThe Rev. L. Noland Pipes, Jr. – Pastoral Associate

Noland came to Memphis in 1986 at the invitation of Bishop Alex Dickson in order to serve the Diocese of West Tennessee as Priest Evangelist (Canon Missioner) with the charge to help congregations practice intentional evangelism and to explore the development of new congregations.  He has served several parishes in Louisiana and Tennessee, and as Assistant Headmaster and Dean of Students at All Saints' Episcopal School in Vicksburg, MS.  Beginning in 2002 Noland helped serve emerging congregations in Alabama and Mississippi, while assisting at Faith.

susan_blackburn_smSusan Blackburn – Director of Youth Ministries

Susan has a love and passion for youth and their specific needs in today’s culture.  She desires to help them live abundantly in Christ, while becoming lifelong followers of Him.  Susan has been involved in leadership with children, youth and music ministry for over 15 years, and has worked with the Faith Youth Crew since 2006.  Susan has been married to Jerry Blackburn for 25 years and they have three awesome children: James, Sarah and Stephanie.

mary_with_childrenMary Hand – Director of Children’s Ministries

Mary has served as Director of Children’s Ministry since May of 2007. She has more than 25 years of Children’s Ministry experience.  Mary is wife to our pastor, mother of two grown children, Will and Liz, and Mimi to granddaughter Leah.  She has taught Sunday School, coordinated VBS, led Children’s Worship, and been on mission trips to Honduras and the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota to minister to the Native American children.

matthew2Matthew Brewer – Director of Music Ministries

Matthew has served as Director of Music Ministries since April 2008.  He has been involved in music ministry for the past 20 years, and began playing the piano for church services at the age of 13.   Matthew has spent time in a number of denominations that has helped him to provide a diverse worship experience.  He is a teacher with Memphis City Schools, and in his spare time he enjoys composing choral music.

trinity_smTrinity Dockery – Nursery Attendant

Trinity Dockery cares for our infants and toddlers in the nursery Sunday mornings from 8:00 am until noon.  She is married to Andrew and they have a baby girl named Haylie.  Trinity works full time for Children First Daycare. 

 

 

 

laqueta_smLaqueta Ferguson – Parish Secretary

Laqueta Ferguson has been Fr. Herb’s secretary for eleven years.  She has been involved in many different ministries in the church and feels that her work in the church office is one of those ministries.  She oversees the daily tasks of church communication, bulletins, organization, answers questions and even sometimes provides a friendly ear.  Laqueta and her husband James have two married boys and two beautiful granddaughters.

james_smJames Ferguson – Accountant

James has been our accountant for the past six years.  He processes payroll, pays the bills, and creates financial reports.  With his BBA, MS, and C.P.A James provides a wealth of business and financial expertise for Faith.  He generously offered office space to us while we were waiting to build.  His wife, Laqueta, is the Parish Secretary.
