Shrove Tuesday Dinner/Auction
February 16th at 6:30
We will have a pancake supper at 6:30 followed by a silent auction of various nifty baskets prepared by you, the people of Faith. We have learned some things from past auctions. Smaller baskets with a theme are the best. Some hits from the past include chocolate, gardening, fancy cheese and crackers, spices, bird items, toys for kids, cookbooks, cookout supplies, pet stuff, baby gifts and healthy snacks. Cute bags with wedding or shower gifts ready to go are great. Individual items such as jewelry or small antiques have been popular. The money raised at the auction is designated for Brother Kirt Gerber, a Benedictine brother who carries medical supplies to Kenya and Dinka language prayer books to Sudan. Brother Kirt usually comes to Faith during Lent to give us an up-date.
Ash Wednesday Services ~ February 17th
As our Ash Wednesday liturgy says, “I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word…” Please make plans to attend either our Noon or 7:00 PM Ash Wednesday service with the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion. The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 17th and concludes on Good Friday, April 2nd. Lent begins and ends with our only two official fast days of the year. Please seriously consider beginning and ending this Lent with fasting and prayer.

I am pleased to welcome you to Faith Anglican Church. It is my firm belief that all of us long for and need a living relationship with God. As Blaise Pascal once said, "Inside of every one of us is a God shaped void." Only God can fill that void. Our worship, programs and activities are designed to allow God to fill that void.
Worship is designed to draw us into God's presence. Our monthly small group meetings (Celebration Teams) are designed to help us build relationships with other caring Christians. Sunday School is designed to help us grow in our knowledge and experience of God. Our youth and children's programs are also designed to draw them closer to God, but on their level. Our relationship grows when we truly hear God's word. As Saint Paul said, "So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ" (Romans 10:17).
Therefore, I strive to teach and preach only that which comes from and agrees with God's Holy Word. If you desire to give God room in your life, you have come to the right place. I invite you to join us as we strive to make Jesus Lord in our lives and in this church.
